I am a freelance journalist & producer, currently residing in Singapore. I am experienced working in various forms of reporting, though have a particular interest in video journalism. I am highly capable scripting, filming and editing – as part of a team or on solo projects – and have on-camera experience.
I am currently a podcast director and producer for media startup site, New Naratif, and have produced two fortnightly podcast series providing coverage on Southeast Asia. I also have a strong interest in covering LGBT rights issues in Southeast Asia, and work as a Asia and Australasia correspondent for Gay Star News on weekends.
Prior to this, I was a Thomson Reuters correspondent based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, providing TV news packages for Reuters’ broadcast clients. In Singapore I worked as a associate producer & technician for Thomson Reuters, and in the past have freelanced with Yahoo! Singapore, AFP, RT News, Democratic Voice of Burma (DVB), The Economist, AJ+ and Focus ASEAN, among others.
I hold a masters degree in International Journalism from Cardiff University, where I specialised in Broadcast Journalism, and prior to this worked as an equipment technician in the events industry.
Outside of work, I enjoy reading, athletic sports and socialising, though one of my passions remains art and art history. I hold a degree in Art History & Philosophy from the University of Glasgow, and have freelanced on several arts projects.
